Maria Laura Wandavi was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1980 and raised in Padua, Italy. She completed her Diploma in Classical studies in 1999 before moving to London. She graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in Fashion Design with Knitwear and worked for Alexander McQueen. She set up her own label “Lalla Wandavi” in 2008 and has created her own knitwear technique of 3D lacing work combined with hand weaving.
